The Dolphin

The Dolphin oceanfront condominium is a privately owned condo, located in the Acquilus II Condominium Building in north Jacksonville Beach, about 8 blocks north of the Jacksonville Beach Pier.

This condo features 3 bedrooms each with its own bath. The open living room, dining and kitchen offers expansive views out to the beach and ocean. A large balcony overlooking the ocean completes the serene setting this vacation home offers.

The master bedroom offers a queen size bed, and a large master bath complete with separate shower and Jacuzzi tub. The first guest bedroom also has a queen bed and the second guest bedroom has two queen size beds, so the condo will comfortable sleep 8 adults. All bedrooms have televisions with cable TV.

The condo kitchen is basically stocked with dinnerware, cookware, glasses, utensils, etc...there is also a washer and dryer in the condo in a separate laundry room. The balcony has an electric grill.

Wireless internet is available throughout the unit and is provided as a courtesy. Linens, towels and beach towels are also provided.

We personally meet you at the property upon check in and give you keys and an orientation. We are also available to assist you or answer any questions you may have during your stay.

Jacksonville Beach is a beach rich with history and full of activities for visitors of all ages. From the Acquilus building one can walk to shopping dining and various forms of entertainment. There are numerous playgrounds within a short drive and further out some of the best state parks in all of Florida. St Augustine is a short drive from Jacksonville Beach where there is a multitude of dining and shopping options along with all the tourists attractions St Augustine is famous for.

There is a vibrant social scene in the heart of Jacksonville Beach with concerts in several of the local clubs and presentations and festivals on the city lawn several times a year. Ask what’s going on when you book and there is bound to be something. Whether it’s the Blue Angels at our annual Sea and Sky Spectacular or watching a movie at the Sea Walk Pavillion Jacksonville Beach is a happening place.

  We’ve stayed in this building before and this was our first stay in this condo. It is beautiful, just as you see in the photos. The view is incredible, you see the ocean the minute you walk in.   We were very satisfied with our stay here. It felt very spacious with decent accommodations (bathrooms and space) for even the 2nd and 3rd bedroom occupants. The building has 2 options for pools and the 3rd floor one was perfect since it was heated and had a hot tub that was in great condition (and very hot). Often we had the pools to ourselves. We brought lots of beach items (surfboards, wetsuits, chairs, etc) and so the private garage space was a great perk too for convenient secure storage. The comments others mentioned about pots and pans, and bring extra TP are accurate. I’m not a decorator but I’d suggest brightening up the back two rooms somehow. Otherwise it was awesome. Location not too crowded. Amenities (pools and fitness room) were lovely. Beds comfy. Provided towels nice (beach ans regular) but also good to have some extra beach towels.

  My family stayed in this condo for six nights over Labor Day weekend and enjoyed every minute (we booked for next April during our stay)
  
  The condo is HUGE.....which was perfect for our family. Everyone had their own room and bathroom ( a real treat). We loved hanging out on the balcony enjoying the ocean view each morning. It was very easy access to the beach, which we enjoyed throughout the day. There were two pools and we were almost always the only people in them. It was so refreshing to hit up the pool after the beach. The condo was clean and fairly well stocked.
  
  Suggestions for owners:
  Realizing this is a rental and supplies do take a beating I would consider replacing pots and pans...they were pretty worn out. There were no plastic cups for outdoor beverages so we purchased some and left for next guests
  
  A previous reviewer commented on no lights on the balcony and I didn't think we would mind that so much but SOME lighting on the balcony would have been nice in the evening.
  
  Overall this unit is in an amazing location...beach and pool at your doorstep and plenty of room. I would highly recommend.

  Our stay at the Dolphin was great! The location was nice, we parked and walked just about every where we needed to go. It is right on Jax Beach, just steps out the door. The condo itself is really nice with plenty of room and perfect for our family. The only complaint we had was the kitchen had the bare minimum in terms of amenities. There is a toaster and coffee maker, but no Keurig. The pots and pans are old. Would definitely stay here again!

The condo was everything we expected and more, so spacious, well decorated, great view of the beach and ocean and the early morning sun rise was a sight to behold. We had plenty of room and were grateful for linens to be provided, especially bulky beach towels. Having two pools on the property was a plus, gave the grandsons a different location for fun. We ate locally and enjoyed the great restaurants in the beach area.

  Charlie was very helpful with our move in. The location is perfect and the view is second to none. A couple of notes: Check in is between 4:00 - 8:00 so plan accordingly and when you check out, you need to return the keys to a location a few miles away. Not super convenient, but not too much trouble. Also - only two keys for property access - so if you have a larger group, you need to coordinate your coming/going so that someone with a key will be available to provide you with access. Overall - property is really beautiful and very comfortable. Had all the amenities you need for a lovely get away.

  Condo. My suggestions: buy some decent pillows. They were awful so I went out and bought one for your condo. Frying pans were so scratched up we were eating Teflon, so I bought you one and left it. Now the good comments: views, views, and the sound of pounding surf was music to our ears. The layout was wonderful, felt very spacious with a huge dining table but we mostly ate outside.beach access was so close and easy. The condo came with a crib and high chair just an FYI which we didn’t use but good for families. Really nice quiet location which suited us yet very walkable to restaurants. Outdoor pools not heated in early April but I went in anyway. I would definitely rent this unit again.

  The condo is roomy and well equipped. Great for a family vacation. Our grandchildren were able to enjoy the beach and pool, all just steps away. The key battery died during our visit and management quickly came and replaced batteries. My one complain is that the blinds on beachside of condo kept falling down. In the morning as sun rises makes bedroom and living room uncomfortable. Overall a great place to spend a family vacation!

Let's just say in the past we rented from someone else and it was miserable. This year we rented from Lancalot and it was WONDERFUL. We had 2 slight maintenance issues which Kevin resolved in a timely manner. The kitchen had everything we needed and the unit has beach towels. Our group had four adults and four kids and there was plenty of room for everyone. This has been one of the most relaxing vacation. We will definitely be renting from here again.

  Wonderful unit with great view of beach. It was very spacious and clean. The property was very secure, a plus. Our group of 7 enjoyed our time there. Wish they would supply bigger soap; it disintegrated into pieces with the second shower, and we had 3 people using that shower for the weekend. Must have been pet friendly, because our son had problems with his pet allergies.

  It was the absolute best. My family could not believe that we had not done this before. It will become a yearly family tradition. The condo was absolutely beautiful. My daughter and granddaughter wanted us to buy it for them. We were 7. Condo sleeps 8. The accomodations were outstanding. 2 pools and a few steps from the ocean. We lucked out on weather and the weekend could not be more perfect. Dining table seats 8 so we enjoyed eachother each morning at breakfast, some lunches and we did do one evening meal at home.
  Sat out on the balcony at night with a glass of wine watching natures lightening show. Better than fireworks. It was large enough so that we were not on top of eachother and cozy enough so that we felt the bonding. Thank you for an amazing vacation.

  This was the third year in a row that we stayed in an Acquilus condo while we were in Jacksonville for the Georgia/Florida game. We like the building and units which have a very large kitchen and living area. The location is very convenient for the beach and restaurants. The only inconvenience is that we are issued two keys and gate openers which are needed to get in and out of the complex if on foot and into the building instead of having the ability to use the key paid to enter. This was a bother even for just three nights.

  I went with seven friends for a girls weekend in Jacksonville, and we really enjoyed the condo. It is great that all of the beds are regular beds and not bunk beds, so it is great for all adults. The view from the balcony is amazing! The only negative thing I can say is that they did not provide enough toilet paper or garbage bags for our 3 night stay.

  We really enjoyed our week long stay in Jax Beach at the Dolphin. The unit was clean, very large and provided three comfortable living areas for our group of 7. The security ensures safety, the beach is very accessible, there were plenty of beach toys in the garage and both pools are very nice. One benefit is the ocean side pool is not directly behind the building. This allows for sun all day and into the late afternoon. Other condo complexes on the beach have the pool blocked by the building and in shade by noon. Sunrises were great and the large balcony was a plus. The location was convenient for shopping, dining and play. Property management met us at the unit upon arrival and gave us the lowdown on everything. They were available all week by cell, but we never had any issues. We would definitely return in the future.

  My family just returned from a nice get away to FLA. We rented the Dolphin Condo down in Jax beach and we very satisfied. The condo was beautiful right on the beach, steps from the beach. Kevin checked us in and out, we were able to get a late check out because no one coming in the next day, we appreciated that. If you come down with a large group, we were 6 adults, you have to coordinate your comings and goings a little bit because only 2 key fobs are given and it is a gated complex. I would definitely stay there again.

  My sister and/or I need to come to Jacksonville Beach a number of times a year to conduct business for our dad, who is elderly. We prefer to book through Lancelot's Castles when at all possible. I stayed in The Dolphin in January 2012 for one of my trips, and my sister stayed in The Dolphin in March 2012 for her trip. We both found - as usual - the accommodations PERFECT and working with Kevin at Lancelot's Castles so easy. Having a place to come "home" to every evening after a long day away makes a business trip feel more like a vacation! Being oceanfront, in what feels like someone's home, and in a secure, gated condominium are all features to help us relax and enjoy. I highly recommend Lancelot's Castles and their properties, and will continue to try to book with them for future trips to Jacksonville Beach!
